Transportation: CITs are responsible for their own transportation to and from camp. Arrival by 9:30 AM on the first day of camp is required.
Dual Role Experience: CITs will alternate between participating as campers in skills sessions, receiving leadership training, and assisting in counselor duties. The counselor duties they will have include running competitions, refereeing games, and fostering the fun, safe, and inclusive environment of Winni Lax Camp within their cabins and all around camp.
Mentorship: CITs will be paired with an older cabin counselor who will serve as a mentor throughout the week, providing guidance and support.
Cabin Duties: CITs are required to be in their cabins during designated rest times and overnight. CITs, under the mentorship of their assigned counselor, will help to ensure a safe and inclusive space for all campers as well as help maintain cleanliness and organization of their cabin.
Supervision and Role Modeling: CITs are responsible for the health and well-being of their assigned campers at all times, including the assistance to supervision during lacrosse training sessions, scheduled events, and in the cabins. They are expected to be exemplary role models and always ready to support cabin counselors and senior staff members.
Quality Values: CITs, like all Winni Lax Staff, must possess good values aligned with our mission as coaches, educators, and role models.
Camp Guidelines: CITs must adhere to all camp rules, policies, and regulations set by the Executive Directors. Responsibilities include providing lacrosse instruction, supporting camper social-emotional needs, assisting with hygiene and medical requirements, supervising meal times and dietary needs, participating in evening activities, etc.
End-of-Camp Duties: CITs will assist in the final walkthrough and gear collection after campers leave. Plan for departure around 4 PM on the final day.
Parent/Guardian Involvement & Approval: Any candidate applicant under the age of 18 is required to include an approving parent/guardian on their email communications and is further required to take part fully in the interview and anticipated onboarding process, including signing the Official Annual Contract.
Tuition Reduction: The CIT Program offers a reduced tuition rate of 50%.
Personal Property: Winni Lax Camp is not liable for loss, theft, or damage of personal property.
Safety and Well-Being: CITs must maintain a safe environment for all campers, promptly reporting any issues or concerns to camp directors. Inappropriate behavior or discussions related to sensitive topics are strictly prohibited.
Age 15 years old (9th Grade into 10th) or equivalent
